At Hope of Family, we believe that every young person deserves the opportunity to shape their future—regardless of their background or economic status. That’s why we are proud to spotlight the journey of our Cohort 2 participants in the Youth Economic Empowerment Program, an initiative designed to support vulnerable youth from rural communities who were forced to abandon their education due to financial hardship.
These young individuals—21 girls and boys—have taken a bold step forward. After years of interrupted education, they are now enrolled in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programs, specializing in hairdressing, tailoring, and masonry. These fields were chosen not only for their potential to create employment but also for their relevance in the local job market, allowing the youth to contribute meaningfully to their communities.
Before beginning their technical training, each participant completed our comprehensive Leadership Academy—a foundational program that provides knowledge and skills in entrepreneurship, leadership, reproductive health, and human rights education. This training is designed to unlock their potential, strengthen their confidence, and equip them with the tools to thrive in both personal and professional life.
Through this program, we are not just providing vocational skills—we are building a generation of change-makers who will uplift their families, serve as role models, and play a vital role in transforming their communities.
Today, we celebrate the progress of Cohort 2 while also recognizing the broader impact of the program: over 100 rural youth have been supported so far, many of whom are now generating income, reinvesting in their communities, and inspiring others to follow their lead.
This is what restoring hope looks like. This is how change begins.
We are incredibly proud of these young people and remain committed to walking alongside them as they build a brighter future—for themselves, for their families, and for the next generation.
